There’s been a lot of information about the COVID-19 vaccines. All of us at FEP understand that safe and effective vaccines are key tools to overcoming this pandemic. Now that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized several COVID-19 vaccines, here’s what you need to know about the vaccines and what we’re doing to help.
All COVID-19 vaccines authorized by the FDA for use in the U.S. have gone through extensive research and rigorous safety assessments. When it comes to safety, you can rest assured there have been no shortcuts. The vaccines won’t cause you to get infected with COVID-19.
All COVID-19 vaccines currently available in the U.S. have been shown to be highly effective at preventing serious illness from COVID-19. The vaccines were studied across a population of diverse ages, races and sexes, and were found to be highly effective. Across the U.S., every family and neighborhood can expect effectiveness and protection.
The vaccines are our most powerful tool to stop the spread of COVID-19. It's important to get vaccinated even if you've had COVID-19 to reduce the risk of reinfection and to protect yourself and others.
They’re free for everyone
The vaccines are free for all Americans. FEP is covering these vaccines with no cost sharing for our members. You will pay no out-of-pocket costs or unexpected fees for the recommended doses, no matter where you receive the vaccines.
