Thank you for your years of dedication. We're committed to keeping your health care benefits as reliable as your service to our nation.

As a retired Postal Service employee, there are some requirements that impact your health coverage

You must enroll in Medicare Part B when you retire, with some exceptions

The FEP Medicare Prescription Drug Program (MPDP) is the prescription drug benefit for FEP members eligible for Medicare. As a PSHB requirement, you must be enrolled in MPDP in order to have FEP prescription drug coverage.

Understanding IRMAA and why it’s still important to enroll in MPDP

Enrolling in Medicare Part D is a PSHB requirement. All PSHB carriers will have this requirement. If you choose to disenroll, you would need to enroll in a different plan that provides creditable coverage. This would require a separate premium and you would still be subject to the IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount). With FEP, you do not have a separate FEP premium for your Part D coverage.
