10 Quick Office Exercises

Use your workspace to your advantage with simple, in-office exercises.

A monthly gym membership isn’t necessary to maintain an active lifestyle. In fact, there are plenty of ways to fit in some exercise while you’re at work—no dumbbells required! See how many of these exercises you can fit in at the office:

  1. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  2. Take a walk with co-workers during your lunch break.
  3. Walk around the office to talk to a coworker instead of sending an email.
  4. Park away from your office and enjoy the walk.
  5. Activate your core doing wall sits.
  6. Do calf raises while waiting for the printer.
  7. Squeeze your glutes while sitting to tone your bottom.
  8. Do seated leg raises at your desk. (Pro tip: create an ankle weight out of a purse or briefcase strap.)
  9. Hold on to the edge of your desk and using just your core, swivel from side to side to work your oblique muscles.
  10. Tighten and release your abdominal muscles while seated.
