As a Basic Option member enrolled in Medicare Part A and B, you are eligible to be reimbursed up to $600 per calendar year for your Medicare Part B premium payments. You must submit proof of premium payments via fax, mail or upload. Upon approval, you will receive reimbursement via direct deposit to your bank account, tax free.

How does it work?

  1. Register for your Medicare reimbursement account online. If you have any questions or concerns, call 1-888-706-2583 weekdays from 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern time, excluding holidays.
    • You will need your 4-digit ID Code. Your ID Code is a combination of your day of birth (DD) and the last 2 digits of your SSN. For example, if you were born on the 8th day of the month and the last 2 digits of your SSN are 12, your ID Code is 0812.
    • After you register, you will get 24/7 access to your account and you will be able to receive important updates and alerts.

  2. Provide proof that you have paid a Medicare Part B premium via:
    • Fax to 877-353-9236
    • Mail to P.O. Box 14053, Lexington, KY 40512
    • Upload through WageWorks EZ® Receipts mobile app, available at the App Store® and Google Play
    • Upload through the WageWorks website

    Examples of proof include:
    • Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) statement
      • This is usually mailed in November (with deduction information for the coming year). You may submit a claim with a service start date of January 1 and a service end date of December 31. Once you file a claim and it is approved, you will automatically be reimbursed on a pro-rated monthly basis based on your annual premium.
    • Cancelled check*
    • A copy of a credit card statement*
    • A copy of a bank statement*

Make sure your documents include the five following pieces of information as required by the IRS:
    • Date of payment
    • Provider name (which is Medicare in this case)
    • Detailed description
    • Proof of payment
    • Name

  3. Most claims will be reviewed within one to two business days after they have been received. Reimbursement funds will be deposited into your bank account shortly thereafter.

*Submit the bill for your Medicare Part B premium payment, along with either a bank statement, credit card statement or cancelled check that matches the amount on the bill for your Medicare Part B premium.
