We cover medical foods you receive by mouth. You must purchase the food using the Retail or Mail Service Pharmacy and receive prior approval.

We reduced your out-of-pocket cost for generic and Preferred brand name asthma drugs. We also reduced your out-of-pocket cost for generic drugs used to lower high blood pressure.

We've expanded the Basic Option "Managed Not Covered" list to include additional non-covered drugs.

If you buy a brand name drug instead of a generic, you’ll pay more out-of-pocket. You’ll pay the brand name cost share plus the difference between the cost of the brand name and the generic drug. However, if your provider tells us you can only take the brand name drug, you will not have to pay the difference between the cost of the two drugs.

We increased the out-of-pocket cost for Non-preferred brand name drugs (Tier 3) for both the Retail and Mail Service Pharmacies.

We removed the age limit on drugs to treat gender dysphoria.

The Specialty Pharmacy Program will be administered by AllianceRx Walgreens Prime. Your specialty drug out-of-pocket costs will stay the same. CVS Caremark will continue to administer the Retail and Mail Service Pharmacies. You can view the 2018 Specialty Drug List or call us at 1-888-346-3731 for more information.
