This has been an unprecedented year for us all. William Breskin, Senior Vice President, Government Programs at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association would like to share an important message with you during this time of uncertainty.

Open Season
Taking care of yourself and your family is more important than ever. We want you to know that we’re working hard to make this experience easier for you and to give you peace of mind.

Open Season is just around the corner and we want you to be able to focus on what matters most: your health and wellness. If you’re happy with the benefits you receive, you don’t need to do anything—your coverage will automatically roll over into 2021.

If you’re thinking about enrolling in the Service Benefit Plan for the first time, we offer comprehensive coverage designed to fit every need and budget. With our AskBlue tool, you can answer some simple questions and get a recommended plan based on your needs.

More federal employees trust the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Federal Employee Program for their health coverage. That’s because we offer benefits like free preventive care, access to specialists without a referral, and our provider network with over 95% of doctors and hospitals nationwide.

FEP’s telehealth benefits provide virtual access to board-certified doctors. Plus, your first two visits are free when you use the Teladoc® network.

What we’re doing
For Open Season 2020, we’re partnering with federal agencies and groups across the country to participate in and host virtual webinar sessions. These events provide you with info about your FEP benefits, tools and resources and tips for living healthier. We encourage you to join some events that interest you.

As always, we’re working to improve your coverage each year— keep an eye out for upcoming 2021 benefit and rate announcements. In the meantime, it’s a good idea to take some time to review your current coverage and think about what you might need for next year. You can only make changes after qualifying life events or during Open Season, which runs November 9 through midnight December 14, 2020, Eastern time.
