FEP BlueVision

In 2007, we are pleased to introduce new supplemental vision coverage available to all federal employees and annuitants during Open Season – FEP BlueVision.

The Newest Member Of The Blue Family

Regular eye examinations help to maintain your good health and are also useful in diagnosing some medical conditions, such as heart disease. FEP BlueVision brings together a full package of eye care benefits and a new provider network created specifically for our members.

Although you are responsible for paying the total premium for this new coverage, you can authorize payment of the premium amounts directly from your paycheck from pre-tax dollars if you are an active federal employee. If you are an annuitant, you can authorize payments deducted from your annuity payment.

FEP BlueVision offers a comprehensive coverage to meet the eye care needs of you and your family. You have a choice of Basic or Standard option FEP BlueVision coverage. Each option offers the same covered services. However the time limitation for eyeglass frames differs.

Under both options, if you use a network provider, you do not have to file a claim. All covered charges are handled by FEP BlueVision and the provider. There are over 25,000 network providers nationwide in the FEP BlueVision network. This includes private practitioners, such as ophthalmologists, optometrists and opticians, as well as national and regional retailers. You can locate a network provider by calling FEP BlueVision or you can access FEP BlueVision online from our Homepage to locate a provider and also get benefit information.
